Man arrested for Monday murder of Landover woman


LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police arrested a man for the Monday murder of a Landover, Md. woman.

Tor Campbell, of Greenbelt, is charged with first degree murder, the department announced in a tweet.

Campbell, 39, of the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road, was taken into custody today at his home. He's additionally charged with second degree murder as well as armed robbery.

Man arrested for helping suspect in girl's deadly shooting


LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police say they have arrested a man for helping Davon Wallace after he shot and killed a three-year-old girl in Landover.

Prince George's County Police have charged Brian Ray Campbell of Landover with first degree murder, second degree murder, manslaughter, accessory before the fact, accessory after the fact and other related charges. He was arrested on Wednesday and is being held in jail without bond.

Police are still looking for Davon Wallace. He is accused of shooting three-year-old Knijah Bibb. Bibb was shot in the 6900 block of Forest Terrace. Police say she was not the intended target.

There was an argument going on between Wallace and another male, police said. Shots were fired into the home and hit the child.

Police: Carjacker crashes into McDonald's drive-thru


LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Prince George's County Police Department arrested a man Tuesday who they say carjacked an SUV, crashed into cars and then into a fast food restaurant.

Police say the incident happened Tuesday morning around 5 a.m. in Landover Hills, Md. in the 7100 block of Annapolis Road.

The suspect, 21-year-old Dominique Tyrone Harrison, went up to the victim at a stop light and asked the driver for a ride, according to police.

Police: Carjacker crashes into McDonald's drive-thru


LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police say a stolen SUV caught fire after crashing into a McDonald's drive-thru early Tuesday morning.

Around 5:11 a.m., police responded to the McDonald's in the 6200 block of Annapolis Road where they found an adult male who had crashed an SUV in the driver-thru. The SUV caught fire and was quickly extinguished.

At the same time, police say they received a call for a carjacking in the the 7000 block of Annapolis Road.

Police arrest man for attempted kidnapping in MD


LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police have arrested a man who they say tried to kidnap a twelve-year old girl.

According to police Michael Jesse McLong, 25, tried to kidnap the girl on Friday afternoon. Authorities say that McLong approached the girl and her 8-year-old brother on Landover Road and identified himself as a police officer.

McLong grabbed the girl by her arm and tried to pull her toward the back of a nearby shopping center, officials say.

Authorities say the children were able to get away when a good Samaritan confronted McLong. According to authorities an off-duty Cheverly police officer and nearby security guard caught McLong and held him until police arrived.

McLong faces multiple charges related to attempted kidnapping.

4 injured in accident on I-495 near Bethesda


BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Two Metrobus passengers are claiming injuries after the bus was involved in an accident on the Beltway Friday afternoon.

Authorities say that the Metrobus was involved in an accident with a passenger vehicle near the Old Georgetown Road exit on I-495.

Authorities report that two of the passengers in the involved vehicle are also claiming injuries.
