Suspect Wanted In Attempted Robbery Of Cabbie

LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (WUSA) - A man who shot a cab driver after demanding money is wanted by the Prince George's County Police.

On July 10 at approximately 2:04 p.m., the driver picked up the suspect from the New Carrollton Metro station and drove him to Cooper Lane Elementary School/Academy in the 3800 block of Cooper Lane. When the cab arrived at the school, the suspect asked the driver to drive to the rear of the school.

When the victim refused, the suspect pointed a handgun at him and demanded money. After a brief struggle, the suspect shot the victim in the leg, then fled from the cab without any money. The driver was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, 5'10", 170 pounds, approximately 20-years-old, with short hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow design on the front, khaki cargo shorts, armed with a handgun.
