The 2012 Campaign Cocktail Menu Debuts at Local Bar

As voters in ten states are casting ballots on March 6 in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, Kimpton's Topaz Bar located at 1733 N Street, NW, invites area residents to stop by and join in on the action at its Super Tuesday Viewing Party.

Patrons can show their support towards their presidential hopeful by ordering one of the politically-charged cocktails inspired by the four GOP candidates and President Barack Obama.

The official 2012 Topaz Bar Campaign Cocktail Menu is prepared by Kimpton Hotel’s Mixologist, Rico Wisner, which features a non-alcoholic Romney Float with Old Dominion Root Beer, whipped heavy cream and caramel drizzle; Rick’s Tea Party with Green Tea Infused Absolut Vodka, Benedictine Liqueur, lemon juice and syrup; Ron’s PBR, a Midwestern staple; a Gin-grich and Tonic with Bluecoat American Dry Gin, Tonic Water, a Peach Liqueur float; and a Home Sweet Home for President Obama including Bulleit Bourbon, lime juice, club soda and a hint of pineapple juice.

The Campaign Cocktail Menu will be offered until the official Republican nominee is selected. The bar will keep a running tally of who’s in the lead by the amount of orders placed for each drink until the general election in November 2012.
