Police: Carjacker crashes into McDonald's drive-thru

LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Prince George's County Police Department arrested a man Tuesday who they say carjacked an SUV, crashed into cars and then into a fast food restaurant.

Police say the incident happened Tuesday morning around 5 a.m. in Landover Hills, Md. in the 7100 block of Annapolis Road.

The suspect, 21-year-old Dominique Tyrone Harrison, went up to the victim at a stop light and asked the driver for a ride, according to police.

Police say Harrison pulled out a weapon and demanded the vehicle after the driver refused to give him a ride. Police say the victim jumped out of the SUV and Harrison drove off in the vehicle.

Harrison drove a short distance and then hit two other cars. Police say one of the drivers followed Harrison. The suspect then lost control of the vehicle and drove into a fast food restaurant.

Nobody was injured, however the business did suffer extensive damage. Harrison was arrested on the scene. He had minor injuries, according to police.

Harrison is facing charges in connection with the armed carjacking and the crashes. Police believe the suspect may have some sort of mental illness.
